I started Professional Fangirl in August 2011 after years of using social media platforms such as Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook to share my pictures and experiences meeting celebrities of all calibers on different occasions. The hobby began back in mid-2009 when Robert Pattinson was filming “Remember Me” here in New York and my friends and I were determined to meet him. From there I began not only exploring more film and television sets, but I learned about red carpet events like movie premieres, launch parties, charity functions, award shows, and more! I have met hundreds of celebrities and enjoy sharing my pictures and experiences with you, my fellow fans, to help bring a new kind of twist to your typical entertainment blog.
From time to time I also like to share my thoughts on the latest movie trailers, casting news, popular television series, fashion, music videos, and so much more. I try to stay away from gossip and speculation unless it is something major or involves someone I am such a huge fan of that I can’t keep my thoughts to myself! However please know that this is my blog, my outlet, and understand that I can post about anything at any time. Don’t worry, I mostly stick to the entertainment stuff though!
As of August 4, 2012 Professional Fangirl is one year old. That first August in 2011 Professional Fangirl received 1,186 hits and I am very proud to report that I closed my first year of blogging with 21,107 hits in the month of July 2012 alone. What started out as just a place to post pictures and stories has become so much more and I am so proud of everything Professional Fangirl and I have accomplished in just twelve months. This includes my NextMovie column where they allow me to recap my monthly adventures in my own Professional Fangirl section! Recently Professional Fangirl was sourced on notable other blogs and sites such as Huffington Post, Pink Is The New Blog, Boston.com, and Pop Crush!
I am just another pop culture junkie hoping to make a career out of it one day!
I want to personally thank each and every one of you who has ever read any of my posts. This could not be done without you, the readers, my fellow fans, and I look forward to being able to bring you even more in Professional Fangirl’s second year.
Fingers crossed for big things!
