2012 Met Gala: FAVES!

Last night was the 2012 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala – better known to the masses as the Met Gala – and if you didn’t already know this, it is considered the “East Coast Oscars”. Every year the Met Gala is the mecca of fashion on the red carpet. If you pay any attention at all to Fashion Week then you can pretty much predict who will be wearing who, but watching the red carpet will still take your breathe away no matter how much you think you’ve prepared yourself for it.

While I watched the red carpet happening live in person by standing across 5th Avenue with a clear view of the red carpet drop-off depot, there were a number of gowns that literally had me gasping with my jaw on the floor.

Who was my favorite, you ask? Emma Stone. Emma Stone shut it down in her gown which was a multitude of things such as adorable, fun, and sexy! Coming in a very, very close second (Seriously. I debated this internally for far too long.) is Carey Mulligan in a sequined Prada gown that matched the debut of her wedding bling perfectly.

Honorable mentions: Beyonce, Amber Heard, Chanel Iman, Christina Ricci, Jessica Stam, Nina Dobrev, and – GASP – Rooney Mara. Flawless choices, ladies!

Below is a slideshow of my FAVES from last night’s Met Gala – aka the “Best Dressed” in my opinion! Who was YOUR top pick of the night?
